//Day1// Prayagraj
Allahabad, also known as Prayag, boasts a rich historical legacy dating back centuries. Named by the Mughal emperor Akbar, it is revered as the ‘Tirth Raj’ or the king of all pilgrimage centers. Mentioned extensively in the Epics, Vedas, and Puranas, Allahabad sits at the confluence of three rivers: Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati (the latter being a mythical river). This sacred meeting point, known as Sangam, hosts numerous fairs and rituals, attracting pilgrims year-round. The renowned Kumbha Mela draws millions from across India who come to bathe in the holy waters of Sangam. Upon arrival, visitors often head to Shiv Mutt for rituals, including the Vapanam shaving ceremony, followed by a bath in the Triveni—the confluence of the three rivers
